WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE LINEUP- BRAVES OFF TO A ROUGH START
I think its time Fredi has to do something- the braves are struggling right now- they cant get the big hit and the offense isnt producing much period. I think Nate Mcclouth in the #2 spot is a big mistake. Hes not producing enough to be hitting in front of Chipper. Maybe they need to try him at leadoff and have Prado hitting 2nd or move Mcclouth down in the order and have Heyward hitting 2nd. I think Fredi right now looks alot like Bobby Cox- stuck in his own ways and not agressive enough. Why didnt Fredi let Matt Young steal tonight to put him in scoring position for the potential winning run? When are the Braves goin to start running and manufactoring runs like the best teams in Baseball do? Yes it is early in the season but how long can you keep on going with this lineup thats not producing?? Come on now changes need to be made.

Great blog Jordan and i agree with your comment Fredi needs to do something with this line up. Actually Mclouth is hitting decent i wouldn't mind seeing him bat lead off and Prado second. Looks like Heyward is struggling batting second in the line-up. Course the majority of Braves hitters are struggling. Seems like this team for years now since like Furcal never are aggresive stealing. I've seen Uggla steal a few but whenever Matt Young is on base he should be going he has some wheels. Like you said its early but they need to get going here soon. To many good hitters for this team to be struggling. I thought i heard on baseball tonight Uggla worse month hitting is always April think he is career 186 or something. But May he is over 400 or something.
ReplyDeleteI wouldnt mind seeing Mcclouth leadoff but no tin 2 hole.He seems to be comfortable in the 8 hole though.. I never liked Heyward batting second. Heyward has really gotten off to a slow start.. I hate the fact the Braves never steal bases- its the best way to manufacture and score runs. To me this team will never truly be a threat until we get base stealers who take over the game with speed. I dont know why Matt Young doesnt steal- thats why he made the team. Theres no excuse for him not to run everytime he gets on base. Yeh Uggla is a horrible April hitter- Im not really worried about him at all- he will hit.
